Hi There and Hello!
My name is Karen, welcome to Lion and the Snail.

I have always loved making things, ever since I was a little girl. One of my fondest memories, is sitting with my grandmother when I was seven or eight years old, while she patiently taught me to knit. My joy of knitting was rekindled with the birth of my first child.

I began learning new techniques and skills and it wasn't long before I realised, I wasn't constrained by a pattern, with the knowledge I had, I could create something different and unique.

I made a blanket and some mittens of my own design for a friend's baby. I then started making some of my own mittens to sell. I had a multitude of design ideas, however with orders for custom mittens coming in, I was making the same designs over again, and not getting the opportunity to work on new ones.

I took a step back... If I was a knitter looking for patterns like these, perhaps there were other knitters out there looking too, and here you are.
